|Big Creek Charolais is located about an hour and a half south of Kansas City, near
Harrisonville, Missouri. We are about 15 miles east of Harrisonville near 2 Highway.
We raise purebred, quality Charolais seedstock. Big Creek began when Carol Doughty
acquired some Charolais females from her father, Martin Moran, in 1968. Since then, we
have worked to establish a small herd using AI sires that are in demand for quality, as well
as utilizing embryo transfer.
Our herd is focused on fertility, performance, EPD's, milk, and structurally sound,
functional animals. With powerful foundation females like the Diamond Dam Queen
Punkin family and the WC Dixie family providing the base for the herd, we will move into
the future with AI and ET to improve upon these genetics for the next generations of Big
Creek females. While these females helped put Big Creek on the map in the Charolais
industry, we will rely on our current lineup of donors to keep Big Creek Charolais relevant in
the industry by producing females and herd sires that meet the demands of our customers.
Watch for our top consignments in spring and fall bull and female sales, and as always, we'll
be at the shows!!
